Armadale-Byford rail line re-opening

Perth's electric rail network is one of Australia's best, with affordable fares, regular services and modern infrastructure. The Armadale line was shut down in November 2023 for a major upgrade, including several level crossing removals, elevated rail lines and grade separations, and some significant station upgrades and a dual track electric extension to Byford.
The WA Premier, Roger Cook, the Deputy Premier, Treasurer and Transport minister, Rita Saffioti, and the federal Transport minister, Catherine King were all in Byford to launch the re-opening. A wide range of community groups and organisations were present at the Byford station re-opening, including AEVA! Many great conversations about transport electrification were had, and many members dropped in to say hi on a beautiful spring day.
