AEVA calls on Feds to plug hole in plug-in hybrid efficiency figures

The way plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV) efficiency is determined has come under fire, with the AEVA recommending that the Federal Government updates the fuel efficiency testing methodology. PHEVs are routlinely quoted to have much better fuel efficiency than users are ever able to achieve, and this is likely to undermine the effectiveness of the upcoming New Vehicle Efficiency Standard.
